The Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB) proudly announces that Ms. Mariam Naveed, a Ph.D. student, has successfully defended her thesis in a public defense held on September 24th. Her groundbreaking research focused on the “Role of long non-coding RNA in breast cancer and its modulation through selective medicinal plant extracts”. This significant study contributes to the growing body of knowledge in cancer research, potentially paving the way for novel therapeutic approaches.
Ms. Naveed conducted her research under the supervision of Dr. Bushra Ijaz in Functional Genomics Lab. The external examiners for her defense were Dr. Afsar Ali Mian, Associate Professor at the Centre for Regenerative Medicine, Aga Khan University, and National Distinguished Professor Dr. Ikram ul Haq.
