September 2, 2026: US Consul General Lahore Stetson Sanders, accompanied by Vice Chancellor University of the Punjab, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, visited the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), University of the Punjab, where the distinguished guest was briefed on CEMB’s cutting-edge research, technological innovations, and contributions to biotechnology.

The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the University’s research capabilities and CEMB’s pioneering work in modern molecular biology and biotechnology. Director CEMB, Prof. Dr. Moazur Rahman, welcomed the distinguished guests and briefed them on the Centre’s multidisciplinary research portfolio, scientific achievements, and ongoing initiatives.

During the visit, the US Consul General and the Vice Chancellor toured several state-of-the-art research laboratories at CEMB, including facilities dedicated to stem cell research, biopharmaceutical development, and agricultural biotechnology. Faculty members and researchers briefed the visiting delegation about ongoing research projects, technological developments, and their potential applications in healthcare, agriculture, and sustainable development.
