September 9, 2026—An orientation session for the newly admitted MPhil and PhD students of 2026 was held today at the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), University of the Punjab.

Director CEMB, Dr. Moazur Rahman, welcomed the students and shared important advice for their academic journey. He emphasized that being professional, regular, and prepared is important for achieving goals. He said that getting marks is not the only purpose of education and students should not take opportunities for granted or become overconfident.

Sharing his own experience, he encouraged students to work hard and increase their reading to understand concepts from the basics. He highlighted the importance of building a strong foundation, particularly in molecular biology, starting with an understanding of biomolecules and their functions.

He also reminded students that the nation has invested in their education, and it is their responsibility to give back through their hard work and efforts. He stressed the importance of teamwork, helping others, and building friendships.

Dr. Moazur Rahman appreciated Dr. Bushra Rasheed, Head of Academics, and her team for successfully completing the admission process. He concluded by saying that education is not only for getting a job but also for personal grooming and wished the students the best of luck.
