COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF RESEARCH PROGRAMMES AT CEMB
A comprehensive review of the research programmes at the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB) was held on May 31, 2024. The review panel was composed of esteemed academics and scientists including Prof. Muhammad Ali Shah (S.I., T.I.), Member of the Board of Governors (BoG) and Vice Chancellor of Bahauddin Zakariyya University, Multan; Prof. Dr. Shahid Mahmood Baig (H.I., S.I.), Dean of Life Sciences at the Health Services Academy, Islamabad; Prof. Dr. Naeem Rashid, Member of BoG and former Director General of the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Punjab; Prof. Dr. Mazhar Iqbal (T.I.), Member of BoG and Head of the Health Biotechnology Division at NIBGE, Faisalabad; and Prof. Moazur Rahman, Director of CEMB.
During the review session, Prof. Moazur Rahman provided an overview of the ongoing research activities at CEMB. He highlighted the significant advancements and current projects in both the Health and Agriculture domains. Following his presentation, group leaders at CEMB presented detailed accounts of their respective research programmes, showcasing the innovative work being conducted at the centre.
The panel members offered valuable suggestions and guidelines aimed at refining and enhancing future research projections. Their expert advice is expected to play a crucial role in streamlining CEMB’s research objectives and ensuring continued excellence in the fields of molecular biology and biotechnology.
