data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Sameera Hassan has joined CEMB, after Masters in Zoology by selection through national&nbsp;competition, in 1997. During her research endeavours she has worked on phage display of&nbsp;Bacillus thuringiensis protein where the expression of whole fragment of Cry 1 Ac toxin and&nbsp;domains II III were separately displayed as translational fusion with gene III in pDAN3&nbsp;phagemid system. This study involved different Molecular Biological Techniques like cloning,&nbsp;sub-cloning, SDS PAGE analysis, Dot Blot, Western Blotting, PCR, Plasmid and Genomic DNA&nbsp;Isolation, Colony hybridization, DNA Sequencing and analysis through Chromas software.<br>Different Microbiological techniques included Streaking, colony inoculum, Glycerol stock and&nbsp;different media preparations.<br>She has been also an active researcher in Biopharmaceutical lab and worked on the expression of&nbsp;recombinant human erythropoietin (hEPO) gene in prokaryote by transformation in E. coli&nbsp;(BL21DE3) and in eukaryote by transient and stable transfection in Chinese Hamster Ovary&nbsp;cells. The protein was purified by using different chromatographic techniques like Affinity and&nbsp;ion Exchange Chromatography from cell culture supernatants.<br>She has also worked on multi drug resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRDSA) from Bovine&nbsp;mastitis dairy samples and isolated 8MRDSA after screening through different microbiological&nbsp;media like Muller Hinton agar, Sheep Blood agar and Baird Parker agar.<br>In 2010 got enrolled in MPhil leading to PhD program. During MPhil research two desi cotton&nbsp;varieties were worked on for their NaCl tolerance. In 2016 her PhD was notified based on&nbsp;research entitled \u201cCellular Characterization, Cloning &amp;amp; Expression of Universal Stress Protein&nbsp;Gene (GUSP1) in Cotton and its Role in Drought Tolerance\u201d. Since then, she is working on&nbsp;abiotic\/biotic stress tolerant in different plants. The genes playing role in tolerance are isolated,&nbsp;Cloned and characterized for developing transgenic cotton plants for their respective tolerance.<br>Thus, two PhDs and 15 MPhils have completed their thesis, so far. A total of 10 full length genes&nbsp;and 8 partial cDNAs are submitted on NCBI during 2022-2023.<br>She is enthusiastic researcher her greatest strength is research and teaching skill which enables&nbsp;her to contribute permanently betterment of her institute as well as to enhance her professional&nbsp;skill.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Selected Publications:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Batool F, Hassan S, Azam, S. et al.
