Molecular Virology and Infectious Diseases is a unit of Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), which is one of the most well-reputed and vibrant research & development organizations in Pakistan. Accurate diagnosis plays a crucial role in managing Hepatitis C (HCV) and Hepatitis B (HBV) infections. Our Virology lab is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and staffed by experienced professionals specializing in virology. We offer Real-Time Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR) testing services that provide reliable results for the detection and quantification of HCV and HBV viral loads.

It is noteworthy to mention that our Molecular Virology lab has a rich history of providing diagnostic services since 2001, particularly in the realm of HCV and HBV, under the sagacious leadership of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Idrees, serving as The Group Leader of our laboratory. Notably, during the period spanning 2006 to 2010, our lab actively contributed to the Prime Minister’s HCV and HBV control program. I am pleased to convey that we have recently reestablished our Molecular Virology diagnostic services with renewed vigor and dedication. We are confident that with this qPCR testing, the patient and doctors will receive timely and accurate diagnostic assessments.
