I’ve lost a dear friend and research collaborator. In this world, there are just a few truly great human beings who are also geniuses. Riaz is one of them.
Until someone writes a book about all Riaz’s prodigious accomplishments as well as his generosity, honesty, munificence, his recognition on the world stage will be lost in the noise of inhumanity we face today.
I feel privileged to have been his colleague, published with him and shared accomplishments of our children as they were growing up. Penelope and I send our condolences to Naz.
In the fullness of time, Pakistan will come to understand that it too has lost an unparalleled scientist and, in my opinion, its greatest scientist yet. I’ll miss Riaz the rest of my life.
A-Friend, a colleague and an Associate at Reading Univ. (UK), PAEC, NIAB, INMOL, PU- CEMB.
