Visit to Embassy of Pakistan, Beijing China

Director of the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), University of the Punjab, Prof. Moazur Rahman, visited China from December 24, 2024, to January 1, 2025. During his trip, he visited various companies and universities, attended an international conference, and signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Participation in International Symposium Prof. Moazur Rahman visited the China Agricultural University in Beijing, where he was
warmly received by Prof. Cheng He (DVM, Ph.D.), Director of the Sino-ASEAN Innovative Academy of Major Animal Disease Control. He participated in the International Symposium on Veterinary Vaccine and Drug Technology Cooperation Among the Belt and Road Countries, held from December 20 to 31, 2024. Organized by China Agricultural University, the Chinese Veterinary Medical Association, and supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the symposium provided a robust platform for collaborative innovation in veterinary science, attracting participants from Pakistan, China, Bangladesh, Iran, and other regional countries.

Visits to TECON Production Facilities
In Urumqi, Prof. Moazur Rahman visited the High-tech North Zone Production Base of TECON Pharmaceutical, TECON Pharmaceutical Toutunhe Production Base, and TECON Feed Production Base. He was warmly welcomed by Mr. Chen Hongxing, Strategic Development Director at TECON Pharmaceuticals. Prof. Moazur Rahman participated in detailed discussions with the TECON Group, exploring potential collaborative opportunities.

Collaboration with Shihezi University
Prof. Moazur Rahman held in-depth discussions with Prof. Dr. Wang Yuanzhi, Vice Dean of the School of Medicine at Shihezi University, Xinjiang, China, regarding vaccines and poultry infectious diseases. He signed an MoU between CEMB and the Key Laboratory for Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Diseases and Public Health Security of the XPCC, as well as the NHC Key Lab for the Prevention and Treatment of Central Asia High Incidence Diseases at the First Affiliated Hospital of Shihezi University. The MoU aims to establish a framework for joint research initiatives and facilitate research and student exchanges between the institutions.

Meeting at Xinjiang Centre for Disease Control
Prof. Moazur Rahman visited the Xinjiang Centre for Disease Control, where he engaged in comprehensive discussions with Chinese counterparts, focusing on public health challenges and collaborative strategies.

Discussions at Xinjiang Agricultural University
At Xinjiang Agricultural University, Prof. Moazur Rahman met with Mr. Guo Qingyong, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine. They discussed potential collaboration in research areas such as stem cells, infectious diseases, and herbal medicines.

Engagement with the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing
During his stay in Beijing, Prof. Moazur Rahman visited the Embassy of Pakistan, accompanied by Dr. Muhammad Mohsin Kiani, Sector Specialist for Livestock and Security at Pakistan’s Planning Commission, Muhammad Asif Noor, CEO of Diplomatic Insight Group, and Prof. Cheng He. They held detailed discussions with Mr. Aslam Chaudhary, Economic Minister, Government of Pakistan, highlighting collaborative research and technology transfer initiatives with Chinese counterparts.
Prof. Moazur Rahman’s visit marks a significant step in fostering international collaboration, advancing research in molecular biology, veterinary science, and public health, and promoting technological exchange between Pakistan and China.
