Pakistan Science Foundation Chairman Visits CEMB-PU Laboratories
The Chairman of the Pakistan Science Foundation, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akmal, visited the research laboratories of the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology, University of the Punjab on May 21, 2026.
During the visit, Director CEMB, Prof. Moazur Rahman, warmly welcomed the distinguished guest and provided a detailed briefing on the ongoing research and development projects being carried out at CEMB under various national and international funding initiatives. The briefing highlighted CEMB’s contributions in the fields of molecular biology, genetic diagnostics, biotechnology, agricultural and translational research aimed at addressing national healthcare, industrial and agricultural challenges.
Faculty members and laboratory researchers also presented comprehensive overviews of their ongoing research activities. Special emphasis was placed on innovative technologies, ready-to-commercialize products, and successfully commercialized biotech products developed at CEMB. The visiting delegation was informed about CEMB’s efforts toward translating academic research into practical healthcare and industrial solutions for the benefit of society and the national economy.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akmal appreciated the state-of-the-art research facilities and commended the dedication of CEMB scientists and researchers in promoting scientific innovation and indigenous technological development in Pakistan.
