June 15, 2026: Provincial Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat visited Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), University of the Punjab and toured its state-of-the-art research facilities.

During the visit, Director CEMB, Prof. Moazur Rahman, briefed the minister on the Centre’s ongoing applied research programs in agricultural and health biotechnology. The minister visited facilities dedicated to the development of genetically modified cotton varieties aimed at enhancing crop productivity and resilience. He was also introduced to CEMB’s research initiatives in stem cell and regenerative medicine, particularly efforts focused on developing innovative stem cell-based therapies for diabetic foot recovery and wound healing.

Minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat appreciated the dedication and achievements of CEMB researchers, acknowledging their role in advancing scientific innovation and contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.
