On the 8th July 2026, Prof. Moaz attended the Belt and Road” International Technology Transfer Country Pathway Forum and the 8th International Symposium on Bio-Health Agriculture held at the Province Science and Technology Resource Coordination Center, Shaanxi. At the inauguration ceremony as a representative from Pakistan, Prof. Moaz gave an inaugural speech covering the unprecedented challenges the world faces, including climate change, food insecurity, degradation of natural resources, emerging plant diseases, and the need to feed a growing population sustainably. He further added that universities must work collectively to address priorities such as (1) Strengthening food and nutritional security through innovative agricultural research; (2) Developing climate-resilient and resource-efficient farming systems; (3) Accelerating the adoption of biotechnology, genome editing, artificial intelligence, and digital agriculture; (4) Enhancing mobility of students, researchers, and faculty across our institutions; (5) Promoting joint research centres and international funding initiatives; and (6) Nurturing the next generation of agricultural scientists capable of addressing global challenges.
He emphasized that the future of agriculture depends not only on technological breakthroughs but also on our willingness to collaborate beyond geographical boundaries. Together, we can create an ecosystem where knowledge, innovation, and human talent move freely for the benefit of all our nations.
